Nov 5th 2010

So here comes a more detailed report... The videos are not mine, I gave up taking photos after two minutes and focused on staying alive. xD

We started at about half past four and waited about two hours in front of the venue, and when they opened the doors, that was the first hard time, because they let us in one by one. One. By. One.
Well, we went straight through and stood in third row, which was completely awesome, especially since we were right in front of the mic. Until now I’ve been in front of Ray two times, which is rather on the right, and in front of Frank and Mikey, which is more to the left. The middle was new.
The stupid thing, really, was the fact that it was a Visions party, which means there were two bands playing before My Chem, and they played on another stage, which is about the daftest idea ever, and had us wait inside for another three hours.
Yep, three damn hours. I’m glad I didn’t know that before, I’d have freaked out xD And right next to me, there were these kids who didn’t stop babbling all the time, which wouldn’t have bothered me if their babbling would have made any sense. But they were all like ‘When I heard ‘Helena’ for the first time, I was like 9 years old!’ Goodness!!! Or ‘I’d totally touch Ray Toro’s hair!!!’ And then they pronounced everything wrong, because they were too young to speak proper English, but that really freaks my out, being a student of Anglistics. ^^
Right, but I waited for three years, so what were three hours stuffed in a room with less and less air? Especially when I survived Rock am Ring four years in a row? Nonsense!

So when the guys eventually came on stage, it was rather surreal. The started off with Na Na Na, and the crowd went crazy. For the duration of about the first three songs, they pushed me around, hopped on my feet and hit me with their arms. Which I am expecting at concerts, but this was like three times as intense, don’t know why. But it was.
I’m really not exaggerating, for my ribs still ache. Ow. ^^
Well, I won’t go on complaining, because I haven’t been this lose to the band ever before, and their set list was an exquisite mixture from four records, and I loved every second, whether I could breathe or not. One thing, though; if you ever go to a concert, tie your damn hair into a ponytail. Because getting foreign hair all over your sweaty arms sucks. It sucks. It really does. ;)
Right, then.
I was actually thinking of drawing back for fear of my life, but was too stubborn in the end, and I’m glad I was, because as uncomfortable as it was, it was a damn party: all cheering and waving arms and nearly out singing Gerard. ^^ At least where I stood. We were loud.
Unfortunately I didn’t see too much of Frank, but had a wonderful view on Ray, who was awesome as ever, and Mikey, who surprises me more and more every time I see him. He used to come off rather shy, but he’s all cool and sexy now. I loved his glitzy bass, and his hair! ^^
And everyone loved Gerard’s hair, obviously.
Before The Only Hope For Me Is You, some guys in the crowd started singing ‘Du hast die Haare schön’, and everyone joined in. It’s a kind of national insider, meaning ‘Your hair is beautiful’. Of course Gee didn’t get it and looked SO confused at first! He asked someone to translate and then was like ‘You guys have an actual song for that???’ And I’m told Frankie made a huge WTF??? Face as well. That was a funny moment, I laughed so hard ^^

They played everything: Desolation Row, Venom, Not Okay, House of Wolves, Teenagers, Mama, Welcome to the Black Parade, Famous Last Words, and Lady of Sorrows.
And they played actual five new songs: Na Na Na, Planetary (Go!), which I adore for its rhythm, Only Hope, SING, which is so wonderful, and The Kids From Yesterday. I love the new songs so much it’s beyond words.
And they played ‘Helena’, my secret favourite, because that’s my first My Chem song, and name as well^^, and they played a wonderful version of ‘The Ghost of You’.
This show was full of incredible moments, and although I might repeat myself, I loved every single second. After ‘Cancer’, which always has me shiver because everyone sings along so loudly, they played Kids From Yesterday, which Gee dedicated to his band. In the end, I even had some space to breathe and jump freely, which really increased the fun once more. And when the lights went on again and it was certain they wouldn’t come back, I headed straight for the bar and had two cokes in a row, and we needed like one hour and a half to recover. ^^
Not being able to decide whether to buy a hoodie or a shirt, so I went back home with both.
And I guess that’s it. I loved it, and I want it to come back, and want THEM to come back. I want more music, I want the new album. <3

Vids from different people... I was much more closer!!!! ;D
