Oh baby here comes the sound.

My Chemical Romance.
Anyway.

I have tried to explain the phenomenon My Chem several times now, and I shall try once again. Well, then. My Chemical Romance is what seems to happen when you plug one end of a cable into the centre of my mind and heart, as if you tapped the unconscious essence of my very being, and then connect the other end with a speaker. With four incredibly wonderful guys in between, that is.

Yes, that might be a lousy picture, but the facts are these: My Chem have always managed to capture exactly how I see myself and the world around me in a way that is almost a bit creepy.

They have grown up and developed with me, confirmed and encouraged me, and all this time, they’ve been so right about everything. I have always been able to identify with what they say and do- musically speaking (from dirty punk rock to rock opera to whatever you call that awesome sound of Danger Days), but also concerning the lyrics (way too many to quote), interviews and artworks, videos and even costumes.

Yes, I know you got it. They are awesome.

Now, concerning yesterday. The venue wasn’t the best one but that’s so not important when you go to see your favourite band. Support were LostAlone, and they were quite nice. The crowd was a pleasant one, mixed, all ages, but I didn’t once get near annoying ones.

They were super-gorgeous, at least were I stood. Got shoved around within the front quarter, of course, but I feel I’ve never stood in a crowd that was so gentle.

There was a lot of pushing and shoving, but not in a particualrly hurting way, and not as much as I am used to. I am used to a lot. Four Rock am Rings, remember?
They sang along like crazy, and jumped so freaking much without once hitting thoe around them. I've also never- repeat that, never- seen a whole front half jump without exception, like during Planetary, or swaying like during Mama, for that matter.
Pure awesomeness.

So. The band. I love them, we had that already, and their music. But egads, to hear them live!
I loved to hear the forcefulness of sound, and the blasting Rock'n'Roll of the new album, and they played a wonderful mixture of songs, from my new favourites Planetary and Bulletproof Heart to the obligatory darlings of the Black Parade- it's absolutely amazing how a huge crowd can go insane over one single tone from the piano. I also adored what they did to Helena, which is adding a bit more rock to it and make it less theatrical, and then they were Hang'Em High and a very spontaneous Vampires from Bullets. My word, that song was soooo rad.
Needless to say how I enjoyed Summertime, or to mention my goose bumps during Cancer, is it?
Thought so.

And the band! Who needs Lady Gaga when they can have Gerard Way?!
He's such a sassy diva!
And he really looked good in his tight jeans and shirt- has he lost weight? And then there's the hair. Fucking cool. He's also the one interacting the most with the crowd, beign the singer, and to see that spark in his eyes, to see him smile at a good line, his band or the crowd, and to watch him go totally crazy - it tells you that what they do on stage really is their life. ♥
Besides, there are no words for how much I adore Mikey's hair. It's just so damn sexy! I know I sound obsessed, but he really looks so grown up and confident and absolutely awesome - he's changed so much since I saw him for the first time, and done so for the better; lost his shyness and bacame such an adorable and cool guy!
Frank just radiated coolness like he's always done. I was more on the Ray side of the stage, and my god, is that man gorgeous or what? Went so crazy, smiled so much, and he's got a roadie who looks like his twin! Speaking hairstyle. Long live the fro.

This band. No words. I never get lost in a concert so completely as I do woth this band. I never get carried away or am absorbed in a show this much, and I've been to a lot of concerts. I also never feel so strangely at home in the middle of a crowd consisting of total strangers. It's magic.
So yes, I had a great time. A wonderfully great time. And I love this band.
There, I've said it. ;D

xoxo
